Snot Stew is a delightful and humorous story about the adventures of two kittens that are left to fend for themselves after their mother leaves. They are quickly discovered on the farm and taken in by the family. They learn about people habits and games and some important life lessons. Bill Wallace writes about their adventures and discoveries from the kittens’ point of view. He provides some colorful language opportunities and chances to discuss voice and perspective. The book provides a springboard for various writing activities such as descriptive paragraphs, riddles, dialogue, chapter summaries, and focus on word choice.
